Girls Best Friend

I was online and "ran" into the Fendi website...and what did I see?! The bag that I actually saw in person in Italy!!! Did I ask the price at the store in Italy? No! The bag was too pretty to ruin my fantasizing and oohing and aaahing. So now that I am far, far, far away from the actual bag and store I risked it and looked it up (sigh)...

Palatine Hill, Coloseum, Roman Forum

Ancient Rome is pretty incredible when you think about it because once you realize how old everything is...you are completely awestruck. Palatine Hill has exististed since 1000 B.C.

Many affluent Romans of the Republican period had their residences there. The ruins of the palaces of Augustus, Tiberius, and Domitian can still be seen. Augustus also built a temple to Apollo here, beside his house.

Roman Forum

  • The Roman Forum, was the central area around which ancient Rome developed, in which commerce and the administration of justice took place. The communal hearth was also located here. It was built on the site of a past cemetery.

Arch of Titus
Coliseum
  • Originally capable of seating around 50,000 spectators, the Colosseum was used for gladatorial contests and public spectacles. It remained in use for nearly 500 years with the last recorded games being held there as late as the 6th century. It was constructed between 70 and 72 AD under the emperor Vespasian and was completed in 80 AD under Titus.

Trevi Fountain

The first day we got to Rome we went straight to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and the Pantheon. I was absolutely astonished at the size and beauty of the fountain. We went during the day and returned a couple days later at night time. It is such a breathtaking sight!

I am Officially Back!

Hallelujah! It has been an adventure to get back to Utah, let alone the U.S. But as of today, I am back and settled in Orem in my new apartment. It was quite a frustrating trip back home and I am so grateful to be here and to be in America.
1. Delta lost our tickets from Florence to Rome so we had to pay for them again, they are reimbursing us once the finally admitted it was their fault.
2. It took 2 hours for our luggage to be loaded in Rome so it was then delayed 2 hours.
3. Because of the delay in Rome we missed our flight back to Utah.
4. We had to stay the night in New Jersey...in a hotel, but we are Italy time so no sleep.
5. We woke up and it was pouring rain and our flight back home was almost canceled.
6. I am now home and super jet lagged!!

But after all of that, I am happy to be home and back to life! It was great being on vacation for nearly 3 weeks and especially to where my family originated from. Now I will start adding some pictures!

I'm Here

Buon giorno, spero che tutto sia bene. We made it to Rome a couple days ago and have been hitting up all the big tourist spots. Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and the Pantheon the first day. The second day it rained so we walked around our apartment and went to the Rome National Museum and then at night we went back to the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona for dinner. Wednesday, we went to Ancient Rome and visited the Coloseum, Palatine Hill, Capitol Hill, and St Peter's Church where the chains that bound Peter when he was being martyred hung. And finally, today we went to Vatican City where we went to St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican Museum, and the Sistine Chapel. It all has been a lot of fun! I miss everyone too and cant wait to see everyone when I get back, 10 more days. I will post some photos when I have my cord with me. Arrivederrci!

Its Coming...I'm So Excited...It's Almost There

Aaagh! I am so excited that I am leaving in 8 DAYS for ITALY! It has come so fast! I'm moving this weekend and then all that is left is a literal countdown to the days, hours, minutes, and seconds left! I have such an immense feeling of giddiness...the only way I can explain it is having butterflies in your stomach, needing to go to the bathroom really bad, the feeling of going over a bump and your stomach flops, and having your first kiss but ALL AT THE SAME TIME! It makes me giggle!
